Training on artillery missile systems of great destructive power

A winter training cycle is underway at the military training grounds near Sremska Mitrovica for a battalion of the First Army Brigade equipped with digitized 128 mm M-17 Oganj self-propelled multiple rocket launchers.
The goal of the training is to enhance the crews’ proficiency in the combat use of this modern artillery system, whose introduction into service has significantly increased the unit’s ability to provide fire support to troops in Serbian Armed Forces’ operations.

The focus is placed on conducting tactical drills in simulated conditions that closely resemble real-world combat situations. Artillery batteries are practising movement and preparation of firing positions and observation posts, using masking and concealment from aerial observation, as well as organizing close protection of the deployment area, preparation for and execution of artillery fire, and rapid displacement from the firing position once the fire mission is complete.
During the next phase, which is the most complex segment in this training phase, unit members will conduct tactical live-fire exercises during which their proficiency, technical knowledge, precision, and speed will be evaluated.

The digitized 128 mm M-17 Oganj self-propelled multiple rocket launcher is a modern artillery system designed to deliver sudden and concentrated artillery fire against large targets. It is characterized by high mobility, great precision, and an integrated fire control system, enabling its efficient use in contemporary combat operations.
