General Mojsilović visiting U.S.A.

The Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, is on a multi-day visit to the United States of America at the invitation of the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, Brigadier General Matthew Woodruff.
The visit is taking place in the year marking the 20th anniversary of the state partnership between Serbia and Ohio, characterized by the continuous development of military relations, cooperation between the Ohio National Guard and Serbian state administration and local self-government bodies, and the implementation of numerous mutually beneficial projects.

During the meeting, General Mojsilović and General Woodruff expressed their satisfaction with the results of the long-standing cooperation, which was assessed as extremely successful, extensive, concrete, contributing to the operational capabilities of the armed forces and to the strengthening of the overall relations between Serbia and the United States of America. Readiness was expressed to further expand this cooperation in areas of shared interest.

As part of his visit to the U.S.A., General Mojsilović took part in the Joint Senior Leader Conference (JSLC), an annual meeting for senior officers and CSMs of the Ohio National Guard. Representatives of the armed forces of partner countries - Angola, Hungary, and Serbia, were also invited to the conference.
At the conference, General Mojsilović presented the achievements in the development of capabilities and the modernization of the Serbian Armed Forces, strategic defence priorities, and the future vision for the Serbian Armed Forces as modern, highly equipped and well-trained armed forces capable of defending the country and its citizens, while also serving as a factor of peace and stability in the region. He emphasized in particular that Serbia is currently undergoing a cycle of strengthening and modernizing the armed forces unprecedented in its recent history, as testified by the fact that more than half of the total defence budget is allocated to investments in new armaments and military equipment.

During his stay in the capital of Ohio, Columbus, the twentieth anniversary of the state partnership was formally commemorated. On that occasion, General Mojsilović was presented with a certificate of commendation awarded by Ohio Governor Richard Michael DeWine.

The Chief of the General Staff also met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defense Forces, General Gábor Böröndi, who also participated in the conference. The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on current military issues, the security situation, and modalities for future cooperation.
While in the United States, General Mojsilović will also visit the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMC) in Springfield, where he will be presented with the mission, goals, and key priorities of this Ohio National Guard institution.
