Government's decision on cancelling military duty



The Government of Serbia has reached a decision to discontinue the obligatory military service and has submitted this decision to the Assembly for consideration.

This obligatory military service will be discontinued after the last generation of conscripts have served their duty in 2010, while also pertaining to conscripts who have opted to serve the army within military institutions.

Only those who wish to voluntarily serve in the army will be able to do so as of 1 January 2011.
