Serbian Armed Forces reconnaissance units in tactical cold weather training
As part of the winter training cycle, Army reconnaissance units are conducting tactical training on snow-covered mountainous terrain to maintain a high level of skill in carrying out intelligence missions in Serbian Armed Forces operations.
In line with unit-specific tasks and training objectives, the reconnaissance units are carrying out a variety of activities in the mountains including navigation and movement across unknown terrain during the daytime and at night, carrying out patrols, conducting ambushes and raids, and building covers and shelters for personnel. They are practicing the use of recently acquired modern observation devices and systems, whose introduction into service has substantially improved the units’ observation skills and intelligence collection and processing capabilities. In addition to tactical training, they are also practising alpine skiing, which is necessary for a successful execution of reconnaissance tasks in cold weather operations.
Serbian Armed Forces reconnaissance units conduct training throughout the year on different types of terrain and in all weather conditions in which they may be deployed, ensuring a high level of operational readiness of these units. In parallel with intensive training, these units are continuously equipped with the best weapons and military equipment, enabling them to effectively accomplish their missions on the modern battlefield and provide SAF units with accurate and timely intelligence.
