Minister Gašić tours Ground Safety Zone
On the second day of Christmas, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited members of the Serbian Armed Forces deployed in the Ground Safety Zone.
He first spoke with members of the Serbian Armed Forces stationed at Base Mađere, before concluding his tour of the Ground Safety Zone at Base Devojačka Čuka. During the tour, commanders of the two bases briefed Minister Gašić on the tasks assigned to their respective areas of responsibility, as well as on the organization of daily life and operations at the bases.The Minister of Defence emphasized that today’s visit to the members of the Serbian Armed Forces who are on duty even during the great Christian holiday – Christmas, is an opportunity to express appreciation for the dedication and responsibility with which they perform their tasks.
- It is an honour for me to spend this day at the Mađere and Devojačka Čuka bases with members of the Serbian Armed Forces who continue to serve their homeland and people even during the holiday season. Their outstanding service, discipline, and sense of responsibility are the foundation upon which our state rests and are real proof that Serbia has a military that it can always rely on – the Minister of Defence said.He emphasized that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces are guided by unshakable faith in their mission and expressed his conviction that they will continue to perform all their tasks responsibly and professionally in the future, with the aim of preserving peace.
- We will continue to invest in improving the living standard of members of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as in the military's armaments and equipment. As part of numerous infrastructure projects carried out over the past year, we have also reconstructed some of the bases in the Ground Safety Zone in order to provide our service members with the best living and working conditions, and we will continue to do so in 2026 – said Minister Gašić and wished the members of the Serbian Armed Forces a happy New Year and Christmas with the traditional greeting "Peace of God, Christ is Born".Officials taking part in today's tour included Army Commander Major General Zoran Nasković, Chief of the Operations Directorate (J-3) Major General Gordan Pavlović, Commander of the 4th Army Brigade Brigadier General Grujica Vuković, and Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence Colonel Nikola Matović.
