Minister Gašić visits fighter aviation unit on duty on New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić went to the Colonel Pilot Milenko Pavlović military airbase in Batajnica to visit the fighter aviation unit on duty. He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković, Deputy Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff.
On that occasion, Minister Gašić said that members of the fighter aviation duty unit perform one of the most responsible missions – protecting our national airspace, every day, including on the New Year’s Eve.
- My visit to Air Force and Air Defence members on New Year’s Eve is an opportunity for me to thank them personally for their professionalism, responsibility, commitment, and for spending the holiday away from their homes, on duty, ensuring the safety of all citizens of the Republic of Serbia – said Minister Gašić.
The Minister of Defence extended his best wishes to all SAF members on duty tonight, hoping they will successfully carry out their tasks and enter the New Year feeling proud of the work they do.
- Serbia’s security relies on the expertise, responsibility, and readiness of Serbian Armed Forces members, as well as on the state’s continued investment in strengthening the defence system. In the New Year, we will continue to invest in both our personnel and their equipment, because a strong and modern military is the best guarantee of peace and security in Serbia – Minister Gašić said, wishing a Happy New Year to the members of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces, and all citizens of Serbia.
Minister Gašić was accompanied on his visit to the fighter aviation duty unit by Major General Brane Krnjajić, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence, Brigadier General Milan Elenkov, Commander of the 204th Air Brigade, and Colonel Nikola Matović, Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence.
