Tactical training in armoured reconnaissance battalion

At the training grounds in the greater Niš area, members of the Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion of the Army are conducting regular training in carrying out intelligence operations.
Reconnaissance units are in the field, practicing the tactics, procedures and actions for performing mobile reconnaissance and data collection, using the BRDM-2MS armoured reconnaissance vehicle.

As explained by the platoon commander, Captain 1st Class Marko Kostić, unit members are undergoing collective training to improve the battalion’s readiness for performing specific tasks during Army operations in accordance with the unit’s role.
   — Modern data collection and processing equipment allows us to transfer information at great speed, in real time, and the armoured reconnaissance vehicle, in addition to being highly mobile and capable of handling rough terrain, also provides a high degree of protection — stated Captain Kostić.

The activities practised by unit members include thermal imaging observation, data transmission in real time, giving first aid and dealing with explosive ordnance.
One of the training goals is to introduce new battalion members into their roles. Lance Corporal Boško Miljković is one of them.

— Field training in intelligence gathering is demanding and complex because it requires a variety skills. We are aware of the importance of our duties and the information the battalion provides during operations — explained Lance Corporal Miljković.
Training in the Armoured-Reconnaissance Battalion is a continuous task. It is conducted on all types of terrain and in all weather conditions with the aim of achieving a high level of unit readiness for the execution of intelligence tasks in SAF operations.
