New issue of Odbrana magazine released
The latest issue of Odbrana magazine covers the most important activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in November, featuring reports on specific topics, analyses, and stories from across the defence system.
The In Focus section looks back at the key events in the defence system. Ahead of Air Force and Air Defence Day, celebrated on December 24, the System section features and article on the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade and the 98th Air Brigade, highlighting their challenging missions, high level of proficiency, and cutting edge equipment.The new issue also includes a story on the 28th Mechanized Battalion of the Second Army Brigade, the first unit to be equipped with modernized M80AB1v2 infantry fighting vehicles, which have significantly boosted the brigade’s operational capabilities.
Readers can also learn about the results of training conducted by mixed Army units using newly introduced equipment at the Pasuljanske Livade training ground, as well as joint field exercises conducted by selected units of the Training Command, which confirmed the high readiness and motivation of both soldiers and officers.
The magazine’s series on scientific research presents projects carried out at the Military Academy and the Medical Faculty of the Military Medical Academy. In addition, a special article marks the anniversary of the Veterinary Service Centre, an institution with nearly eight decades of tradition.
In the Tradition section, readers can find a report on the visit made by the families of fallen security and military police personnel from Belgrade to the Military Police Memorial Room. The History section features a story about the life and role of King Aleksandar I Karađorđević, Supreme Commander of the Royal Serbian Army during World War I.
This issue also covers the launch of a diving club at the Military Academy, as well as the continuation of the Stanislav Binički Art Ensemble’s concert series titled Our Soloists.
