Concert of "Stanislav Binicki" art ensemble



The art ensemble of the Ministry of Defense “Stanislav Binicki”and Merima Njegomir gave a concert marking 110th year of the ensemble and also to promote her latest CD “Serbian folk songs”.

The ceremony was attended by the minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac, SAF CHOD LTG Miloje miletic, representatives of MoD and SAF as well as other renowned persons and the ensemble’s faithful audience.
Merima Njegomir thanked Minister Sutanovac as he was the initiator of the idea that she should record a CD with the ensemble “Stanislav Binicki”. The idea originated last year after the concert given by the children of Mod and SAF members and according to Minister’s words, it surpasses the previous disc with Serbian marches and reels while the next disc will be promoted and presented in an even more beautiful hall, the Great War Hall of the old HQ at a concert with the choir of the Military Academy and folk section as the main participants. “Once again we will thus promote the old Serbian music”, as Sutanovac stated.

Those who helped realize this project are producer Tatjana Sucin, tone master Zoran marinkovic, graphic design studio “Freestyler” and captain Srdjan Sestic as well as the conductor of the ensemble Igor Mitrovic, MA.

Merima Njegomir performed songs accompanied by the ensemble and the folk dance group ‘Kolo” while the conductor was Vojkan Borisavljevic.
This concert marked 111th year of the art ensemble which was founded under the name “The first Belgrade symphony orchestra” on 26 September 1899 by the order of King Aleksandar Obrenovic, while the main chaplain and founders was Stanislav Binicki, who alos authored the first Serbian opera “At the spring” and the famous “March on the Drina”.
