2025 Ivan Marković Journalism Award – Call for Submissions
Media Centre “Odbrana” has announced an open call for submissions for the traditional Ivan Marković Journalism Award, which recognizes exceptional reporting on the activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Named after Ivan Marković, one of the most prominent military journalists and a former editor of the Vojska newspaper, who passed away suddenly in 2003 at the age of 43, the award commemorates his professional legacy and encourages journalists to increase the standards of reporting in Serbian print and electronic media.
The award winner will be determined by a panel of judges, and the prize will be presented on January 24, at the ceremony marking Media Centre “Odbrana” Day and the anniversary of military journalism.
All journalists working for media outlets in the Republic of Serbia are eligible to take part, regardless of their employment status. Organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces may also submit nominations.
Applications, including original articles, media clippings, photocopies of published pieces, audio and video clips, may be submitted in person or by registered mail to Media Centre “Odbrana”, 19 Braće Jugovića Street, 11000 Belgrade, marked “Ivan Marković Journalism Award Submission”. Submissions may also be sent electronically, as scanned or digital files, to konkursi.odbrana@mod.gov.rs.
