Training on modernized infantry fighting vehicles

Members of mechanized units from the Second Army Brigade are currently conducting training at a training ground and in the areas surrounding their peacetime locations. The training focuses on the execution of combat tasks in operations, using modernized BVP М80 АB1/V2 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs).
The training is part of the professional personnel’s winter training cycle focused on the execution of assigned missions and tasks, and its general goal is to further improve the competence of IFV crews. Through modernization, the IFVs’ manoeuvrability and fire capabilities have been significantly improved, as well as their level of personnel protection.

The programme includes the practical training of crews and mounted infantry sections, including preparations for mission execution, camouflage, application of tactical procedures while moving and on the battlefield, and the maintenance of all IFVs’ subsystems and armament.
The next step is practising firing at the Serbian Armed Forces’ specialized firing ranges, followed by tactical exercises and cold weather live-fire drills, where members of mechanized units are expected to demonstrate their proficiency in executing tactical and fire missions in offensive and defensive operations.
Training in mechanized battalions, which, together with armoured units, represent the main manoeuvring force in Serbian Armed Forces’ operations, is conducted in all conditions throughout the year. The training ensures the required level of competence in each individual, as well as team effectiveness and speed of response, which, along with reliable IFVs, are crucial for swiftly moving troops into battle and ensuring adequate fire support and force protection in operations.
