250th Air Defence Missile Brigade Day



A military ceremony was held today at the Banjica barracks in Belgrade to mark 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade Day, commemorating November 24, 1962, when the 250th Air Defence Missile Regiment was formed.
As part of the celebration, a parade was staged by the brigade’s units, a display of weapons and military equipment was showcased, achievements in building operational capabilities were highlighted, and awards were presented to outstanding individuals. Wreaths were laid at the memorial dedicated to the victims of the 1999 NATO aggression located within the barracks grounds.

During the ceremony, an overview of the unit’s rich history and its accomplishments over the past year was presented. The unit members’ professionalism and expertise in carrying out all assigned tasks were highlighted, as well as the continued procurement of modern military equipment, showing that the 250th Missile Brigade, the main firepower within the defence system, rightfully deserves the trust of the citizens of Serbia and represents a major force in defending Serbia’s airspace.
Today’s ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, the families of fallen unit members, former unit members, representatives of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces, and the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as local government officials and numerous guests.

Members of the 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade today also celebrated the unit’s patron saint – Holy Martyr Stefan od Dečani.
