Friendly Football Match between Serbian and Hungarian Officers
In line with the Programme for Bilateral Military Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary, a football match was held today in Budapest between generals and senior officers of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Hungarian Defence Forces.
The seventeenth edition of this football match between members of the two armed forces was played in a friendly atmosphere at the “Honvéd” arena. The result was not the main focus, and this time luck favoured the Hungarian team.
Our team was led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiosav Janković, while the hosts were led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Ferenc Kajári.
The Serbian delegation received a warm welcome in Budapest, and the excellent conditions and flawless organisation left an impression of high professionalism and genuine respect.
Sports events between officers of the Serbian and Hungarian armed forces have been held since 2015, alternating between Serbia and Hungary, and represent just one of numerous bilateral defence activities aimed at improving operational capabilities and interoperability, as well as strengthening mutual trust and overall relations between the two friendly countries.
