Minister Gašić meets with Representatives of the Serbian Association “Karađorđe”
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with representatives of the Serbian Association “Karađorđe” from Herceg Novi.
On this occasion, the Minister presented Association President Predrag Vujnović with sets of traditional men’s folk costumes.
Minister Gašić underlined that the “Karađorđe” Association plays an important role in preserving Serbian cultural heritage, tradition, and history.
“Supporting such organisations is an investment in culture and in safeguarding the tradition of our people. Through its activities, ‘Karađorđe’ demonstrates how love for tradition can be translated into concrete actions that bring the community together and strengthen it,” the Minister of Defence emphasised.
Director Vujnović thanked Minister Gašić for the gifts and highlighted the achievements of the male singing group established by the Association, noting that the group’s performances contribute to the promotion of Serbian tradition.
Today’s meeting was attended by Head of Office of the Minister of Defence Colonel Nikola Matović and Head of Department for Tradition, Standard and Veterans of the Human Resources Sector Colonel Đorđe Kalanj, PhD.
On the occasion of Statehood Day of Serbia, by decree of the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, the Serbian Association “Karađorđe” was awarded the Gold Medal for exceptional merits in preserving Serbian culture.
