Military Film Centre “Zastava Film” Marks Its Anniversary
The Military Film Centre “Zastava Film,” an institution under the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence, today celebrated its anniversary, marking 77 years of work and existence.

Addressing the guests, Acting Director of MFC “Zastava Film,” Lieutenant Colonel Bojan Pavić, emphasised that the people who make up this film house know how to transform their knowledge and experience into works that will write new pages in the rich history of this unique institution.
“The Military Film Centre ‘Zastava Film’ has been developing since 1948, and thanks to numerous prominent figures of Serbian and Yugoslav cinematography who were our mentors, it has grown and remained one of the symbols of film production in this region. Always modest and dedicated, the people of ‘Zastava Film’ have created a rich film archive, which has been further expanded this year with valuable cinematic works,” Lieutenant Colonel Pavić said.

During today’s ceremony, a film highlighting the institution’s production and cinematic achievements was shown, after which letters of appreciation were presented to individuals and organisations for their successful collaboration.
The Military Film Centre “Zastava Film” celebrates its anniversary in memory of 14th November 1948, the day the Film Production Department of the Yugoslav Army was established in Belgrade. Over more than seven decades of work, MFC “Zastava Film” has built a unique cinematic tradition within the defence system. From documenting the development of the Yugoslav and Serbian armies, to producing educational films, and creating contemporary productions and projects showcasing the activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, the institution plays a significant role in preserving military history.
