Minister Gašić visits Shaanxi Province



On the final day of his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić visited Shaanxi Province, where he met with the commander of the province, Major General Zhang Wenzhong.

The commander of Shaanxi Province informed Minister Gašić about the region’s economic potential, its defence industry, and the role of the armed forces in civil protection. The visit to Shaanxi Province provided an opportunity for the Serbian delegation to discuss joint defence projects and plans for further cooperation with their Chinese partners.

During the multi-day visit to the People’s Republic of China, important and constructive talks were held in Beijing with General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, and Admiral Dong Jun, Minister of National Defence. The meetings underscored the significance of further strengthening bilateral military cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Following their stay in Beijing, the delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces visited Guizhou Province, where they discussed with their Chinese counterparts ways to enhance cooperation, with particular emphasis on the exchange of knowledge and experience.
