UN Peacekeeping Train the Trainer Course

A UN peacekeeping train-the-trainer course, organized by the UN Integrated Training Service and supported by the Serbian Armed Forces’ Peacekeeping Operations Centre, has been held on Mt. Tara. The course is designed to prepare future UN instructors to deliver training to infantry battalions preparing for deployment to missions under a UN mandate.
The two-week course was attended by the Serbian Armed Forces officers and representatives from the armed forces of 14 other countries across four continents. In accordance with the training programme, they focused on the current UN standards and procedures, as well as on methodology for training units designated for deployment in peacekeeping operations.

Since all participants had some previous experience in training individuals and units for serving as part of a military component in peacekeeping operations, the course also included a revision of materials designed for the training of infantry battalions. These units perform a wide range of tasks in peacekeeping operations, so standardized training material tailored for contemporary operational environment is necessary for effective joint engagement of personnel from different countries and ultimately for mission success.
This international training course is part of Serbia’s continued effort to support UN’s specialized services in building and safeguarding world peace, and it serves as a confirmation of the quality of pre-deployment training and preparation conducted within the Serbian Armed Forces.
