Rotation of SAF medical team in Central African Republic

A regular rotation of the Serbian Armed Forces contingent serving in the European Union Training Mission in the Central African Republic has taken place at Camp Moana in Bangui, the capital of this African country.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces – a staff officer serving as the mission commander’s health advisor and a six-member medical team have successfully completed all assigned tasks since their arrival in the area of operations in April this year. Their dedication, professionalism, and expertise have been recognized through commendations and outstanding performance reports from the mission command.

Over the next six months, the newly deployed SAF team will continue, in accordance with the mission’s mandate, to provide medical support for the training mission, deliver preventive healthcare, and treat injured or ill members of the international forces engaged in the mission.

The Serbian Armed Forces began participating in the European Union Training Mission in the Central African Republic in 2016. Since then, more than 160 doctors and medical technicians have served in the mission, holding positions at the command and in the medical team.

By taking part in UN and EU peacekeeping operations, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to global peace and strengthen Serbia’s international reputation, while also demonstrating ability to deploy forces and resources effectively in a multinational environment.
