Joint training conducted by Serbian and Azerbaijani artillerymen

Joint tactical training in the combat use of 155 mm B-52 M-15 Nora self-propelled gun-howitzers has been conducted at several military training areas in Serbia by artillery units of the Serbian and Azerbaijani armed forces.
The two-week training, based on the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan between the two countries, was conducted at the Mixed Artillery Brigade’s peacetime location in Niš, and subsequently, at the Pasuljanske Livade training area, where the trainees conducted live-fire exercises.

Instructors from the Mixed Artillery Brigade taught Azerbaijani artillerymen, whose units are equipped with the Serbian-made self-propelled howitzers, the tactics of employment of this modern and powerful system, as well as effective target engagement in line with the defined standards and norms.
Officer in charge of the training, Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Cvetković, commander of the B-52 Nora self-propelled artillery battalion from the largest artillery unit within the Serbian Armed Forces, says that the training was carried out in two phases, the first of which was conducted at the Mija Stanimirović barracks and the Rujnik Training Area in Niš.

— During the second phase, conducted at the Pasuljanske Livade training area, we executed firings during the day and at night using 155 mm self-propelled gun-howitzers. The training has left an excellent impression on the members of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. They are particularly impressed by our armaments, particularly the 155 mm B-52 Nora self-propelled gun-howitzer and the fire control system, which demonstrated high accuracy and rate of fire – emphasized Lieutenant Colonel Cvetković.
Army Commander, Major General Zoran Nasković, visited the artillerymen in training and witnessed their excellent proficiency. He emphasized that the joint training represents an important military-to-military cooperation activity between Serbia and Azerbaijan, since it yields concrete and visible results, while also contributing to the enhancement of the armed forces’ capabilities and strengthening the overall bilateral relations.
