General Pavković laid to rest with full military honours
The former Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army, General Nebojša Pavković, was laid to rest with full military honours today at the Alley of Distinguished Citizens in Belgrade’s New Cemetery. Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović were in attendance at the funeral.
Family members, Serbian government ministers, members of the collegiums of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff, representatives of veterans associations, former comrades-in-arms, friends, and public figures bid General Pavković their final farewell. General Nebojša Pavković was born on April 10, 1946, in Senjski Rudnik. He finished the Military Academy – Army Branch, Command and Staff Academy, and the Command and Staff School of Operational Art as the top-ranked student, with an average grade of 10. During his rich military career, he commanded the 16th Motorized Brigade, the Priština Corps, and the Third Army during the NATO aggression in 1999. From 2000 to 2002, he served as Chief of the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army. He received multiple promotions and decorations.
