Families of fallen 63rd Parachute Brigade members attend memorial gathering

Today, members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade hosted the families of their fallen comrades at a memorial gathering held in their honour at the Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrović Airbase in Niš.
As part of the event, which was also attended by active-duty members of the unit and representatives of the Association of Veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, a memorial service was held for the military paratroopers who laid down their lives honourably serving their homeland. Wreaths and flowers were laid at the Wall of Remembrance, dedicated to the fallen members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, after which those gathered visited the unit’s Memorial Room.

Expressing his respect and gratitude to the families of the fallen unit members, Commander of the 63rd Parachute Brigade Colonel Aleksandar Stupar emphasized that the Brigade’s active-duty personnel, together with its veterans, will never allow the memory of their loved ones to fade.
– Their courage, sacrifice, and love for the homeland make it our duty to never forget them. Rest assured that, as long as the 63rd Parachute Brigade exists, as long as its paratroopers jump, your loved ones will continue to live through us – emphasized Colonel Stupar.

This gathering reaffirmed the fact that heroes never die, so long as the memory of their deeds is kept alive and their families are honoured and respected by the unit to which their loved ones once belonged.
