Air Defence Artillery Missile Units Day

A military ceremony was held today at the Banjica barracks in Belgrade to mark Air Defence Artillery Missile Units Day, commemorating September 30, 1915, when Private Radoje Raka Ljutovac shot down an enemy aircraft using a modified field gun.
To mark the occasion, a ceremonial parade of 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade units was held, as well as a display of weapons and military equipment. Wreaths were laid at the memorial located within the barracks, and awards and commendations were presented to the most distinguished individuals.

Looking back on the achievements and the history of air defence, which has been part of the Serbian military for over a century, the ceremony highlighted the expertise, dedication, and professionalism of the members of air defence artillery-missile units, as well as the significant progress made in equipping the units with modern combat systems, something the citizens of Serbia had the opportunity to witness at the recent Power of Unity military parade.
Today’s ceremony was attended by Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Major General Brane Krnjajić, former commanders of the 250th AD Missile Brigade, as well as representatives from various units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, and other guests.
