International UN Military Observers Course
Over the past three weeks, the Serbian Armed Forces’ Peacekeeping Operations Centre hosted an International United Nations Military Observers Course at Base South.

Over the course of three weeks, trainees gained the knowledge and skills required to serve as military observers within integrated UN missions. The program emphasized hands-on training in the application of standard operating procedures in negotiation and mediation scenarios, vehicle and aerial patrols, manning observation posts, and responding to situations involving explosive devices or illegal checkpoints.

The course was delivered by instructors from the Peacekeeping Operations Centre, with support from the operational commands of the Serbian Armed Forces. Additional expertise was provided by instructors from partner training centres in Austria, Greece, Hungary, and Germany, as well as visiting lecturers from both local and international organizations.
Training programmes like this reinforce the Peacekeeping Operations Centre’s role as an internationally recognized institution for preparing individuals and units for peacekeeping missions. At the same time, they enhance the Centre’s capability to plan, organize, and conduct both national and international training courses.
