63rd Parachute Brigade’s dominance at Special Forces Parachuting Competition



The Special Forces Parachuting Competition, hosted by the 63rd Parachute Brigade, was held this week at the Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović military airfield in ​​Niš, as well as in the surrounding area of Niška Banja and the Jelašnica Gorge.
This year’s competition, the 24th edition of the event, brought together four teams from the 63rd Parachute Brigade, two teams from the 72nd Special Operations Brigade, and one team each from the armed forces of Cyprus, Romania and Spain.
The competition was conducted along a 25-kilometre course with a 600-metre elevation difference. It began with a parachute landing, followed by 13 more disciplines, including automatic rifle and pistol shooting, knife throwing, evacuation of the wounded and the recovery of a broken-down vehicle, overcoming wire and water obstacles and contaminated soil, precision bombing, vertical rope climbing and area search.
All teams demonstrated a high level of readiness, exceptional sportsmanship, adaptability, perseverance, and endurance. The 63rd Parachute Brigade’s first team triumphed, followed by the Brigade’s second and third teams, achieving complete dominance at the 24th Special Forces Parachuting Competition.
