The Budget and Finance Sector organized a course on public finance within the defence system, attended by personnel from the Financial Service of the Ministry of Defence, as well as from various commands, units, and institutions of the Serbian Armed Forces. Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Budget and Finance, Goran Momčilović, MSc, highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for Financial Service personnel within both the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. He stated that the purpose of this training course is for trainees to refresh their knowledge and gain new insights and experience in the field of public finance, in accordance with current regulations. The course consisted of a combination of lectures and individual work by participants, covering topics such as the financial service system, the accounting system, financial control and audit, as well as planning within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
Additional topics included the budget of the Republic of Serbia, funding of the Ministry and the Armed Forces, financial plan execution analysis and reporting, as well as the information system for salaries, allowances, and other types of compensation. Course participants were also introduced to accounting entries, the electronic invoicing system, and the role of the Social Insurance Fund for Military Personnel (SOVO) within the public finance system.
