Promotion of military careers at PARTNER 2025 Defence Exhibition

Today, representatives from the Military Academy of the Defence University, and the Defence Obligations Department of the Human Resources Sector promoted military careers at the 12th International Armament and Military Equipment Exhibition PARTNER 2025. They informed visitors about recruitment opportunities, educational programmes at military schools, and how to apply for voluntary military service.
During the event, Colonel Aleksandar Bukvić from the Military Academy emphasized that the promotion of military education and careers is important for all young people seeking information and considering putting on the uniform one day. He said that the defence exhibition featured interesting exhibits for all young people.

- At this exhibition, we have presented a simulator with 3D VR goggles used for training on the Lasta aircraft. It has an extremely positive impact on young visitors because it gives them an almost realistic experience of what it is like inside the actual plane – said Colonel Bukvić. He added that at this defence exhibition, the Military Academy is promoting and showcasing two major projects – a radar system used to train cadets in radar operation and a mobile simulator which is the final stage of a doctoral project that shows the latest advancements in military education incorporating new technologies.
Second Lieutenant Bojana Jovandić from the Defence Obligations Department provided detailed information at this year’s defence exhibition about military service obligation and the concept of voluntary military service.

- The younger generation is mostly interested in the structure and the duration of voluntary military service. The military service lasts six months and is divided into three periods. Initially, recruits are assigned to one of three basic training centres, where they spend the first month and a half undergoing basic infantry training, learning close-order drills, and handling personal weapons. After this initial period, they move on to one of the specialized training centres – said Second Lieutenant Jovandić. She added that the final three months of military service are spent in the units of the Serbian Armed Forces.

According to the Defence Obligations Department, what motivates young people to choose a military career the most is family tradition, heritage, and patriotism.
Infantry cadet Darko Božić said that his decision to join the Military Academy was inspired by his love for the military profession, which he inherited from his ancestors and family members, as well as his sense of patriotism.

- My guiding light in this profession has undoubtedly been my family, first and foremost my brother, and then my father, who have been my strong support since I was a boy. They give me the motivation, determination, and hope to keep moving forward – said Cadet Božić.
