Members of 126th ASEWG Brigade train on modern medium-range radars

Professional members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade are undergoing training on the GM-200 medium-range surveillance radar at the unit’s radar sites. The radar was officially introduced into operational service with the Serbian Armed Forces late last year.
Intensive training on these modern radar systems is being conducted daily to ensure that as many crews as possible are fully qualified to operate the radar during its deployment as part of the continuous airspace surveillance forces tasked with monitoring and protecting the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.
The training includes both theoretical instruction in radar technology and hands-on practice in operating and maintaining the system. Instructors are the unit personnel who have completed all required training and certification, both in the country and abroad.

The training focuses on preparing crews to man radar sites, identify low-flying targets with characteristic flight patterns and minimal radar signatures, and efficiently process and relay the radar surveillance data.
The GM-200 medium-range surveillance radar is primarily designed to detect specific types of targets, remotely piloted aircraft, drones, rockets, and artillery projectiles. With the acquisition of this radar, along with the introduction of the modern GM-400 long-range radar system and the new SOVA 24 system that processes and displays the aerial situation and provides automatic control, the combat capabilities of the 126th ASEWG Brigade have been significantly enhanced, meeting the highest standards of airspace control in the Republic of Serbia.
