Grand Power of Unity military parade held



The grand Power of Unity military parade was held today in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade. The event was attended by the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, alongside Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić, and the Parade Commander, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović.

Approximately 10,000 personnel took part in the parade, and around 2,500 pieces of weaponry and military equipment were showcased. Numerous spectators had the opportunity to see more than 600 vehicles, 70 aircraft, and 20 vessels.

The parade started with a march-past featuring units from all branches and services of the Serbian Armed Forces, Military Academy cadets, and veterans. This segment was followed by a precision drill display, known as “egzercir”, performed by Guardsmen.
The next segment featured a naval parade of Riverine Flotilla vessels, led by the flagship, BPN-30 Kozara

An impressive display was carried out by members of the Special-Purpose Military Police Detachment “Kobre”, showcasing a segment of the unit’s capabilities.

As the parade continued, an echelon of vehicle-mounted units marched past. Spectators could see a selection of state-of-the-art weaponry and military equipment in service with the Serbian Armed Forces, along with assets currently under development by the domestic defence industry.

The parade featured a wide range of weaponry and military equipment, including air defence missile systems such as the FK-3 and HQ-17, the modern GM400 and GM200 radar systems, the Miloš, MRAP, Lazar 3, Humvee and BOV OT armoured combat vehicles, modernized M-84 AS1/2/3 tanks, modernized M80 AB1/2 armoured infantry fighting vehicles, 155 mm NORA self-propelled howitzers, modernized Gvozdika howitzers, along with the Oganj self-propelled multiple rocket launchers, modernized PASARS anti-aircraft systems, SN-95 and SN-92 remotely piloted aircraft, assault drones such as the Osica, Komarac 2, Shadow-25, and Shadow-50.

The Hermes 900 reconnaissance and combat UAV, along with the PULS modular self-propelled multiple rocket launcher system commanded particular attention.

The parade continued with a striking flyover by aerial echelons, featuring a range of aircraft such as the modernized MiG-29 and Orao, Super Galeb, C-295 CASA, An-26, Piper Seneca, and Lasta, along with helicopters such as the H-145, Mi-17, Mi-35M, Super Puma, Gazelle and the Gama. The display culminated in a formation flight featuring MiG-29s flying alongside French Rafale fighter jets.

The finale of the military parade was highlighted by a ceremonial parachute jump performed by members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade who carried the national flag of the Republic of Serbia alongside the flag of the Serbian Armed Forces. The parade concluded with a final ceremonial flypast by a MiG-29.

Today’s military parade was attended by the President of the United Arab Emirates, a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Crown Prince of Dubai, national assembly speakers and prime ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, government ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska, members of the Parliament of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Minister of Defence of Hungary, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chief of Staff of the French Air and Space Force, the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, as well as members of the collegiums of the Serbian Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff, along with the representatives of the diplomatic corps and military diplomats.
