Telecommunications Service Day and Signal Brigade Day celebrated

Telecommunications Service Day and Signal Brigade Day were marked today across garrisons and garrison towns of the Serbian Armed Forces. This day commemorates September 20, 1916, when the Decree on Military Telegraph was passed, laying the foundation for the establishment of Serbian Army’s signal corps.
On this occasion, the most significant achievements in enhancing the capabilities of Serbian Armed Forces’ Telecommunications Service were highlighted, awards were presented to distinguished individuals, and wreaths were laid at the memorial dedicated to the fallen members of signal units at Belgrade’s Banjica Barracks.

Reviewing the past year’s performance, it was highlighted that the Telecommunications Service personnel successfully executed all assigned tasks, ensuring effective telecommunications and IT support within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. Their efforts significantly enhanced the Serbian Armed Forces’ overall capabilities by enhancing the command ability, accelerating decision-making and communication processes, and improving the planning and execution of operations.

It was noted that a significant leap forward in modernizing signal units with advanced telecommunications equipment will be showcased tomorrow at the Power of Unity military parade.
