Ministry of Defence delegation participates in 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum
A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by Colonel Dejan Stojković, Ph.D., Head of the Strategic Planning Department, Defence Policy Sector, Ministry of Defence, has taken part in the 12th Xiangshan Forum in Beijing.
During their visit to Beijing, representatives from the Ministry of Defence held a meeting with officials from the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China. They exchanged views on the political and security situation both regionally and globally, and discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and other areas of mutual interest. The delegation also visited one of the most significant defence industry companies in China.
The Forum presented a platform for exchanging views on global and regional security and defence policies, promoting the equality of nations, dialogue, and cooperation as essential elements for addressing a wide range of global and regional security challenges and threats.During the first plenary session, Colonel Stojković presented Serbia’s position on establishing a just and equitable global security management system. He emphasized the importance of consistent and impartial adherence to the United Nations Charter and warned against unilateral actions that undermine international security and pose a direct threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
This year, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, one of the world’s most prestigious events in the field of security and military diplomacy, brought together participants from 107 countries and international organizations, who exchanged views on maintaining international order and promoting peaceful development.
