Minister Gašić meets with Adjutant General of Ohio National Guard Woodruff
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today with the Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, Brigadier General Matthew Woodruff, to discuss further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
Minister Gašić warmly welcomed the newly appointed Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard, Brigadier General Woodruff, emphasizing the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral military cooperation with the United States in the period ahead, in a way that serves the mutual interest of both nations.He emphasized that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces maintain a strong partnership with the Ohio National Guard under the State Partnership Program, established in 2006, which is the cornerstone of successful bilateral military cooperation between the two countries. He also underscored the significance of the two nations’ joint efforts in establishing Base South.
The Minister of Defence underscored the significance of the joint participation of the Serbian Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces in the multinational peacekeeping mission on the Sinai Peninsula.At today’s meeting, Minister Gašić said that the upcoming Power of Unity military parade will showcase a modern and well-equipped Serbian military. He highlighted that the Ohio National Guard delegation will have the opportunity to see Serbia’s military capabilities first hand, gain a broader perspective, and recognize the important role Serbia plays in the region, which will help strengthen mutual understanding.
Brigadier General Woodruff said that it was a privilege to make his first official visit to the Republic of Serbia as Adjutant General of the Ohio National Guard. He emphasized the comprehensive cooperation through the Ohio-Serbia State Partnership Program and expressed confidence that the good cooperation in areas of mutual interest will continue to grow.
