Minister Gašić presents gusle to Military Academy Cadet Marjanović
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić has presented a traditional musical instrument - gusle to Danilo Marjanović, a cadet of the Military Academy’s 147th class, to honour his efforts in preserving national traditions.
On behalf of the Minister of Defence, Assistant Minister Radović presented the traditional instrument to Cadet Marjanović, commending him for choosing a military career, as well as for nurturing both a patriotic and artistic spirit and preserving our national traditions.For two consecutive years, Cadet Marjanović has taken part in the state ceremony commemorating the Battle of Kaymakchalan, as a gusle-player. At this year’s ceremony, held on September 7, he played the gusle and recited a passage from the poem Vojvoda Radomir Putnik.
Danilo Marjanović comes from Priboj. He enrolled in the Military Grammar School in 2018 and graduated as the third-ranked student of the 46th class. He is now a cadet of the 147th class of the Military Academy, pursuing the Air Defence Artillery-Missile major. He expresses his passion for the traditional instrument and music at the gusle music workshop, which he runs at the Military Grammar School. He participates in school events and official ceremonies with members of his music club.
