Meeting held to review preparations for Power of Unity military parade



Today, Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, held a meeting at Banjica 2 Barracks in Belgrade with senior officers to discuss the progress of preparations for the upcoming Power of Unity military parade.
The grand military parade marking the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag will be held on September 20, in front of the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade.

Minister Gašić emphasized that the military parade will be more than just a military ceremony, it will be an event that will make Serbia and our nation proud.

- The military parade is a symbol of our freedom, unity and strength. On September 20, we will demonstrate to both the domestic and international audiences the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the significant investments made in them over recent years. A strong military is the guarantor of peace and stability. I invite all citizens to attend the parade, to celebrate this holiday with us, to show that Serbia comes above all else, and that we are ready to defend our homeland – Minister Gašić said.
At the meeting, it was confirmed that preparations for the military parade, including rehearsals carried out by personnel, the transport of combat equipment, and its deployment to the area near the Palace of Serbia, are proceeding according to the planned schedule.

The Minister of Defence and the Chief of the General Staff noted that the intensive preparations in the previous phase, conducted at the military air bases in Batanjica and Kovin, at the Military Academy barracks in Banjica, as well as in the airspace over Belgrade and along the Danube and Sava rivers, were carried out with maximum commitment, dedication and effort by members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
