Humanity in service of peace: Serbian contingent provides assistance to children in Central African Republic

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces serving in peacekeeping operations perform their duties professionally, with dedication and impartially. In addition to maintaining peace, they also engage in various humanitarian activities within the area of operations, further strengthening the trust and respect of the local population.
One such humanitarian activity was recently organized by the Serbian Armed Forces contingent serving in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (CAR). Members of the Serbian Armed Forces donated essential supplies to an institution in Bangui, the capital, which supports children without parental care as well as vulnerable adults cast out by their families.

The donations were raised by staff officers and personnel from a Level 2+ military hospital, continuing the long-standing tradition of SAF members engaged in peacekeeping missions, both in the countries where they are deployed and upon their return to the Republic of Serbia.
The Serbian Armed Forces’ contribution to the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic includes Level 2+ hospital personnel, staff officers, and military observers. The Serbian military hospital provides Level 1 and 2 medical care to UN peacekeepers, including urgent surgical and other interventions, basic dental care and evacuation of the injured.

Through participation in peacekeeping missions, the Serbian Armed Forces contribute to building and maintaining peace worldwide, while simultaneously reaffirming their professionalism and ability to effectively deploy personnel and resources within a multinational framework. In addition to enhancing operational capabilities and interoperability, missions like this also contribute to the development of international cooperation and strengthen our country’s reputation.
