New generation of soldiers commences military service

A new generation of young men and women who have chosen to undertake voluntary military service has been officially admitted to the Serbian Armed Forces basic training centres.
After arriving at the military barracks in Sombor, Valjevo, and Leskovac, the new recruits underwent mandatory medical checks, were issued their weapons and equipment, and assigned to their units. There, their commanders briefed them on their rights, responsibilities, and the tasks that lie ahead.

Over the next six weeks, the soldiers will learn to handle personal weapons, carry out basic tactical manoeuvres and combat procedures, and perform guard duties. Simultaneously, they will work on building their physical fitness.

Afterwards, they will undergo individual specialized skills training. Upon completion of specialized training, they will spend the last three months of their service directly with Serbian Armed Forces units. During this time, they will learn to carry out collective tasks specific to their respective branches and services and actively engage in daily operations alongside professional personnel.
Soldiers interested in joining the professional military ranks can apply during their voluntary military service. After successfully completing the selection process, they will be eligible to join the Serbian Armed Forces as professional soldiers immediately upon completing their military service.
