Top-notch equipment and improved staffing levels in Military Police units

Military Police battalions within the Army conduct a range of tactical and firearms training activities throughout the year to maintain and further develop the ability of individuals and units to effectively perform military police duties and other general security tasks within the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
In this training phase, the focus is on additional instruction for newly admitted unit members in the use of MP equipment and weapons, as well as in the exercise of police powers.

In line with the training program, and under the supervision and guidance of commanders and instructors, tactical actions and procedures for carrying out military police duties are being practiced, encompassing crime suppression, countering terrorism, enforcement of military order and discipline and military traffic control.
To carry out scenario-based tactical missions and MP tasks, working dogs are being used alongside combat vehicles, motorcycles, modern telecommunication and information systems, as well as remotely controlled aircraft recently provided to MP units.

Sergeant Aleksandar Ilić from the 3rd MP Battalion, highlights a segment of firearms training, specifically, Military Police firing practices, which, in his view, differ from those in other units of the Serbian Armed Forces.

- What drew me to the MP units was the tactical, firearms and MP training, as well as certain MP tasks – said Sergeant Ilić, who joined the Military Police after completing his military service. Advancing through the ranks, from lance corporal to sergeant, he met all the required conditions and standards to be awarded the initial NCO rank.
Military Police units are equipped with modern assets and weapons of both domestic and foreign production, which, together with continuous training, ensure the required capability to effectively carry out assigned tasks across all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, in line with the law, regulations and commander’s orders.
