Contract signed between Ministry of Defence and Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport Ltd.

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and Ana Kaluđerović, General Manager of Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport Ltd., signed a contract today at the Palace of Serbia. The contract delineates the respective rights and obligations of the parties concerning the adaptation and modernization of the Aeronautical Museum building, as well as the construction of multipurpose hangars within the museum grounds. The contract signing ceremony was also attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali.
Minister Gašić emphasized that the purpose of modernizing this cultural monument is to improve the conditions for exhibiting the valuable collection, while also creating space for new educational and cultural content designed to bring aviation closer to younger generations.

- This museum is not only the custodian of technological and historical legacy but also a symbol of courage, innovation, dedication, and progress. The Ministry of Defence will continue to invest in the preservation of our tradition, as this builds a solid foundation for the future, said Minister Gašić.

To mark the beginning of successful cooperation, Minister Gašić awarded the Plaque of the Ministry of Defence to Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport Ltd., which was accepted on behalf of the company by its General Manager, Ana Kaluđerović.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of the Office of the Minister of Defence, Colonel Nikola Matović, and the Head of the Department for Tradition, Standard, and Veterans, Colonel Đorđe Kalanj.

The Aeronautical Museum is one of the buildings planned for reconstruction as part of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, a specialized international exhibition. As part of the project, the existing museum building will be adapted and modernized, and new multipurpose hangars will also be constructed.
The Aeronautical Museum was established in 1957 as the Department of History and Yugoslav Aeronautical Museum, operating within the structure of the Air Force Command in Zemun. Its mission was to preserve material evidence significant to the emergence and development of aviation in our territory. As the collection expanded, the museum relocated several times before finally moving into its own dedicated building on May 21, 1989 – Yugoslav Air Force Day – where it remains to this day.
