Subotica and the army sign transference of right agreement

Head of the Section of the Military Construction Center “Belgrade” Colonel Stevan Martinovic and Deputy Mayor of Subotica Dusko Guslov signed a transference of rights agreement for two military facilities in Subotica.
In February this year the City of Subotica inked contracts with the Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia on purchasing former barracks “Narodni heroj Petar Drapsin” with an area of 21ha and with 36 military facilities of 9400 square meters and military training field “Radanovac” with over 123 ha and 30 high-building facilities of 3400 square meters.
According to Colonel Markovic, the funds procured in this manner, MoD will use for modernization and equipping, to improve the material status of MoD and SAF members as well as to build flats for the retired members of the Serbian military .
The local self-government of Subotica, as was said, has recognized an opportunity for economic growth in using cost-ineffective military facilities, and in that respect ranks as one of the most involved.

Expressing his pleasure with the successful realization of this task, Dusko Guslov stressed that the City would offer these grounds mostly situated on the Subotica-Palic motorway to various investors, where shopping or logistics malls will soon replace old, dilapidated and deserted grounds.
Another four military facilities, “Kosta Nadj” barracks, the Military Club, and two shooting grounds “Hrastovaca” and “Aleksandrovi salasi” will also be offered.
