SAF contingent’s successful participation in mission in Sinai

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces who served in the peacekeeping operation in the Sinai Peninsula from February this year until recently, have returned to the Republic of Serbia after successfully participating in the mission and handing over responsibility to a new contingent.
This was Serbia’s fourth contingent participating in this mission of the Multinational Forces and Observers, which was established based on the 1981 agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel with the aim of overseeing the implementation of security provisions of the Egypt-Israel Agreement signed in 1978.

Over the past six months, members of the Serbian contingent – a task group consisting of 10 engineers – performed engineering and infrastructure works within the mission camp in South Sinai.
They performed all their tasks responsibly and professionally, making a significant contribution to the functionality of the base and improving the living conditions for all mission participants. Commendations received from the mission headquarters stand as a testament to their exemplary service and admirable representation of the Serbian Armed Forces.

They were replaced in the mission area by a new engineer unit of the Serbian Armed Forces - the fifth rotation – who, following the handover ceremony, began their six-month engagement on the same tasks.
