Minister of Defence meets with Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić met today in Belgrade with the outgoing Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Bassel Salah Mostafa Ahmed.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Gašić thanked Ambassador Ahmed for his dedicated service during his tenure in Serbia and for his valuable contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries. He also wished the Ambassador much success in his future endeavours.He emphasized that the exceptionally friendly relations between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, have played a significant role in strengthening and advancing overall bilateral cooperation, particularly in defence.
Minister Gašić further emphasized that the scope of activities carried out under the auspices of the Joint Egypt-Serbia Military Committee and the Military Technical Committee stands as testament to the robust and friendly relations between the two countries, and reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt.Regarding defence cooperation, both parties agreed that there is considerable potential for its further improvement in the forthcoming period.
During the meeting, the two officials also exchanged views on current developments in Serbia. The Egyptian Ambassador underscored Egypt’s thorough understanding of the ongoing situation in the Republic of Serbia.The Egyptian Ambassador thanked Minister Gašić for the courteous reception and the opportunity to meet at the conclusion of his tenure in Serbia.
