Serbian Armed Forces assist villages facing water shortages

In response to a prolonged drought that has led to water shortages, members of the Serbian Armed Forces are assisting with the water supply to households in several villages across the municipalities of Bujanovac, Kruševac, and Sjenica.
At the request of local authorities, seven water tankers have been deployed to the affected villages, where they will remain until hydrological conditions and the water supply are stabilized.

Water is primarily being delivered to replenish wells, cisterns, and reservoirs used for household needs and livestock in the villages of Jablanica, Donje Novo Selo and Pretina near Bujanovac, as well as in Veliki Šiljegovac, Grevci, Ribari and Ribarska Banja near Kruševac.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have been carrying out the same task since last Thursday in villages on the Pešter Plateau, in the municipality of Sjenica. Earlier this month, SAF engineers also worked in the area to clean out existing livestock watering holes and excavate new ones.

As many villages face water shortages, the Serbian Armed Forces remain ready to support the population and, depending on available resources, will continue to deploy personnel and equipment to assist affected citizens across the Republic of Serbia.
