Specialized training for soldiers and future armour branch NCOs

Stationary camp is underway at the SAF Orešac Training Area near Vršac. Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course candidates and military service volunteers (June 2025 intake) are preparing for their future roles within armoured units.
In accordance with the requirements of their future roles, soldiers and future NCOs are training for the combat use of branch-specific assets, while simultaneously preparing for the execution of tasks and adapting to the living and working conditions in the field.

At the camp, which is a mandatory part of specialized field training, they are practicing familiarization fire and doing target practice using the M-80A infantry fighting vehicle. These firing practices serve to assess the effectiveness of the training and are an opportunity for soldiers and NCO Course candidates to test the combat abilities and firepower of the armoured vehicles.
Excellent results confirm that the specialized training conducted at the Army Training Centre was successful and that the training objective has been fully met.

Upon return from the field, soldiers will continue their individual training, which – due to the complexity of the roles they are preparing for – lasts for four months. Their individual skills will be evaluated at the end of September, and soon thereafter they will be assigned to the Serbian Armed Forces units to undergo collective tasks training.
Once they complete field training, Basic NCO Course candidates, who previously completed the Leadership Course and proved to be successful in their soldier roles, will continue doing internship within the units of the Serbian Armed Forces. Upon successful completion of the course, they will become eligible to be promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to perform their initial NCO duties.
