Minister Gašić: False evidence as justification for terror against Serbs
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić stated that the actions undertaken by the so-called Kosovo parliament, the outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Minister of the Interior in the provisional institutions of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, Xhelal Sveçla, are directed towards destabilizing the security situation and represent a continuation of policies marked by violence and the persecution of the Serbian population in that region.
- The recent claim regarding the alleged discovery of two rocket launchers in an uninhabited house in northern Kosovska Mitrovica – now being used as grounds for accusations against the Republic of Serbia, constitutes a blatant example of poorly staged evidence planting. Rather than focusing on the protection and improvement of living conditions for the non-Albanian population, the outgoing leadership of the provisional self-government in Priština continues to seek justification for years of terror against the Serbs living in the Province through fabricated criminal narratives – Minister Gašić stated.
According to him, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, along with all other state institutions of our country – strictly abide by the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia as well as relevant international agreements in the matters concerning Kosovo and Metohija and, in line with these principles, do not endanger in any way the safety of the population residing in the province, regardless of their nationality or religious affiliation.
- On the other hand, the repressive apparatus under the control of the leadership of the provisional institutions in Priština carries out systematic and premeditated acts of violence against the Serbian population on a daily basis, with the clear objective of transforming our southern province into an ethnically clean Albanian territory. The competent institutions of the Republic of Serbia are closely monitoring developments in the Province with the primary aim of protecting the population subjected to the terror of illegal Albanian armed formations, the Minister of Defence emphasized.
