Training at radar post: monitoring and safeguarding airspace 24 hours/day
Members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade of the Air Force and Air Defence, are continuously involved in the tasks of air surveillance, detection, tracking and identification of targets in the airspace.

At one of the radar posts in south-west Serbia, regular training is underway for professional members of the unit equipped with the AN/TPS-70 3D radar produced in the USA that has been in service in this unit for years.
Training is conducted continuously, both during regular duty shifts and at tactical exercises and simulations of various airspace threats.

— It is intended for round-the-clock airspace surveillance, timely detection, tracking and identifying targets, as well as for collecting, processing, displaying and distributing precise data to all interested parties in the defence system of the Republic of Serbia. Training is conducted at the radar post and focuses on gaining theoretical knowledge about the principles of radar technology operation in order to train unit members to use and perform basic maintenance of complex radar computer equipment, automation systems and telecommunication and IT equipment – explains Capt. Ajdačić.
As radar technician MSgt Nemanja Mitrašinović explains, team work and good organization are crucial for efficient functioning of the unit, because the personnel works at a detached radar post in shifts lasting from 48 to 72 hours, so their engagement requires a high level of responsibility and dedication.

Continuous training and skills improvement ensures that members of the 126th ASEWG Brigade can achieve the highest standards of competence, necessary for keeping the radar equipment highly functional and carrying out all tasks assigned to the unit without difficulty.
