Serbian Armed Forces engage in firefighting across Serbia



Over the past ten days, the Serbian Armed Forces have been engaged in 23 locations to extinguish fires that have affected numerous areas throughout the Republic of Serbia.
 
Thanks to everyday dedicated and professional work of our military personnel, in difficult weather conditions, major tragedies were avoided and extensive damage was prevented.
 
The Serbian Armed Forces were involved in firefighting efforts, cooperating with the Ministry of Interior, emergency departments and local governments, to combat wildfires by engaging all necessary resources - personnel, mobile firefighting equipment and aircraft.
 
More than 500 members of the Serbian Armed Forces have joined firefighting efforts using several dozen pieces of heavy equipment. Helicopters of the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence had more than 30 flight hours in difficult conditions, dropping about 200 buckets over the affected locations delivering a total of 1,300 tons of water.
 
The Serbian Armed Forces participated in extinguishing fires in the Municipality of Veliko Gradište - in ‘Peskovi Military Complex’ and in the village of Požeženo, in the Municipality of Golubac - the village of Vinci, in the Municipality of Prokuplje, Kragujevac - in the villages of Cerovac and Vlakče, then on Tara mountain in the village of Tarabići, in the village of Guberevac near Knić, the village of Bogovađa near Lazarevac and the village of Prijanovići near Požega.
 
Also, personnel and assets of the Serbian Armed Forces extinguished wildfires near Bujanovac in the village of Dobrosin, in ‘Bukovik’Military Complex near Aleksinac, in the Municipality of Kuršumlija - in ‘Pepeljevac’ Military Complex and the villages of Mirnička Reka, Konjuva, Rastelica, Bacoglav and Selište.
 
Members of the Army were also engaged in the village of Planinica near Mionica, in the Municipality of Ub - in the villages of Šargane and Liso Polje and in the Municipality of Gornji Milanovac - in the villages of Vraćešnica and Rudnik.
 
If necessary, members of the Serbian Armed Forces will continue their engagement in providing assistance to citizens and their property and will always be at the disposal of their state and their people.
