Three transplantion operations performed at MMA



The MMA doctors performed three cadaver transplants last night, with complete preparation, explanation and transplantation conducted at MMA. The liver was transplanted on a 32-year old D.J. from Ivanjica, while kidneys were transplanted on M.S. (51) from Krusevac and D.M.(28)from Prokuplje.

The whole procedure was conducted by the Head of MMA, Major General, professor Miodrag Jevtic, who expressed great pleasure with such great achievements of MMA transplant teams.
The commitment of these teams saved today three lives and this is another practical contribution to the national campaign “ Prolong life”, as general Jevtic said expressing gratitude to the family of the deceased Dj. D. (51) who donated his organs.
This is the 13th liver transplant and 298th kidney transplant in MMA, with currently five patients with liver transplants at regular checks up and post-op. recovery in the Center for Transplantations in MMA and four with transplanted kidneys.
