New members of MP units undergo tactical training



Professional soldiers admitted to the Military Police units through open competition or coming from other Serbian Armed Forces’ units through internal competition are undergoing intensive training in the Military Police battalions of the Army.

The training consists of a practical and regular part, which are conducted throughout the year in order to maintain and further improve the capabilities of individuals and units to perform the military police and general security tasks in the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
 
The purpose of the training is to prepare new soldiers for their main duties in a short period of time, to acquire necessary knowledge and skills for executing specific tasks and qualify for exercising the authorities of military police officials in the area of territorial responsibility. 
 
In accordance with the training programme, the soldiers undergo firearms, tactical and military police training, and in this phase they mainly practice the checkpoint procedures, tactical procedures when patrolling and encountering a suspect, securing areas, facilities and protected persons and they also execute firing with all types of weapons used by the military police units.
In the following period the youngest personnel is expected to undergo more complex training at the Serbian Armed Forces training areas, which includes tactical drills and live-fire exercises, in order to reach full combat readiness to conduct efficiently the assigned duties and tasks stipulated by law, other regulations and commanders’ orders in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces.
