Minister Gašić attends St. Vitus Day Concert by ‘Stanislav Binički’ Artistic Ensemble in Kruševac
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, attended tonight’s concert of the ‘Stanislav Binicki’ Artistic Ensemble of the Ministry of Defence at the Kosovo Heroes Square in Kruševac, on the occasion of marking the St. Vitus Day - 28th June. The ‘Binicki’ ensemble choir and orchestra played the following compositions in front of a huge crowd conducted by Katarina Božić: ‘Hey Serbia, Dear Mother’, ‘There, Far Away’, ‘Heart of a Hero’ and ‘Lazarus, our Golden Crown’.
The St. Vitus Day concert featured a diverse repertoire, including ‘March of Alexander the First’, ‘March of Miloš the Great’, then ‘Heavenly Regiment’, ‘The Longest Night’, and performances of ‘Heart of a Hero’, ‘Heroes from Košare’ and ‘Serbian South’ which drew special attention from the audience. The vast audience at tonight’s concert was introduced to the soloists Dragan Milanović (tenor), Biljana Vasiljević Mitrović (soprano), Svetozar Vujić (bass-baritone) and the conductor, soprano Katarina Božić, who sang the famous composition ‘Fairy from Košare’. The performance was also completed by the renditions of the songs ‘Vidovdan’ (St. Vitus Day), ‘Pukni zoro’ (Let the Dawn Break) and the widely known ‘March on the Drina’. The St. Vitus Day concert was attended by Kruševac Mayor Ivan Manojlović, representatives of the local government and numerous citizens of Kruševac.
