Serbian Armed Forces members participate in marking St. Vitus Day in Kruševac
Minister of Defence Bratislav Gašić and General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, have attended today in Kruševac, a number of activities by members of the Serbian Armed Forces, who participated in marking the St. Vitus Day - 28th June. Members of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard paraded through the streets of Kruševac in the afternoon - from the Festive Square at Kosturnica to the Monument to the Kosovo Heroes, where the anthem was sung and the flag of the Republic of Serbia was raised in honour of the holiday. The representative Guard orchestra, under the baton of Lieutenant Darko Stoicev, began the parade with the composition ‘March on the Drina’, and numerous citizens applauded following the blue Guard uniforms and the cavalry platoon along Vidovdanska Street to the Monument to the Kosovo Heroes. Members of the Orchestra performed a mix of Serbian patriotic songs and melodies of marches such as ‘The King’s Guard’, ‘Milan Obrenović’ and ‘Alexander the First’. Members of the cavalry platoon under the command of Captain Mitar Petrović, provided a special pleasure in a unique performance on the streets of Kruševac demonstrating very good horse-riding synchronisation and training. The attention of the youngest Kruševac residents was attracted by the service dogs from the Dog Training Center of the Training Command, who paraded with their handlers through the Kosovo Heroes Square and brought smiles to the faces of the children with their coordination and professionalism. At the sounds of the Infantry March, to the delight of the citizens gathered at the Monument to the Kosovo Heroes, members of the Guard performed a drill under the command of Lieutenant Đorđe Pešić. The blue formation demonstrated drill movements with arms, and the attractive choreography, agility and harmony of the movements of the guardsmen were rewarded with thunderous applause. The celebration of Vidovdan in Kruševac was attended by Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs, Brigadier General Željko Furundžić, Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Guard, Ivan Manojlović, Kruševac Mayor, representatives of the local government and numerous citizens of Kruševac.
