Combat training in anti-armour helicopter unit
Members of the 714th Anti-Armour Helicopter Squadron of the 98th Air Brigade are conducting intensive training in giving fire support to ground and special forces in operations.

In accordance with the training programme, this week they did day and night live fire practices, firing from Mi-35 and Gama helicopters at the Pasuljanske Livade range. They engaged ground targets using air guns and Malyutka and Ataka anti-tank guided missiles.
During the preparatory and pre-flight activities, carried out at the Morava Military Airfield in Lađevci, they examined all possible circumstances, from meteorological conditions to ammunition quality, that the air crew might face while carrying out the task.

— Combat training is the most advanced form of training that a combat helicopter pilot receives, because it requires a high degree of competence in all types of flying, day, nigh and navigation flying – said Captain Zlatković, noting that, for the more experienced squadron members, combat flight is just another form of training and a test of their skills
The anti-armour helicopter squadron of the 98th Air Brigade is based at the Morava Military Airfield in Lađevci, and is primarily intended for aerial fire support. Over the past several years, it has been significantly strengthened with Mi-35 helicopters entering service.
